Kieran Tierney has starred for Scottish Premiership champions Celtic and would be the perfect addition for Premier League side Everton.

Everton have been strangely absent from the race to sign Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, despite the need for a new left-back at Goodison Park being well documented.

Leighton Baines cannot carry on forever and is now 33, while Luke Garbutt has been omitted from the first-team plans by both Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce and seems destined to be let go in the summer.

But Tierney, who is a target for Manchester United, Tottenham and Bournemouth according to the Sun, has not yet been linked with a move to Goodison Park despite his outstanding form north of the border.

Bet Victor, however, have installed Everton as the 4/1 favourites to sign Celtic’s £20 million-rated homegrown starlet this summer.

United and Bournemouth, who are understood to have made Tierney their top target, are behind on 6/1.

On paper, the three-time SPFA Young Player of the Year winner looks like the perfect successor to Baines. He, like the former Wigan Athletic ace, is an attack-minded full-back who is renowned for his wand of a left foot and pinpoint deliveries from out wide.

Tierney has 11 assists in all competitions for Celtic this season and some would argue that he is the best British left-back around right now.

So £20 million does not look too steep in today’s market.
