Everton, West Ham United and Crystal Palace are all believed to be interested in signing Chris Smalling.

With Everton chasing Manchester United’s Chris Smalling, it could be the first time that Ronald Koeman’s side’s qualification for Europe aids them in a race for a transfer.
Everton are said to be competing with West Ham United and Crystal Palace for Smalling’s signature (Daily Star).

United are believed to be willing to sell the England international, with Victor Lindelof expected to replace the powerful centre-back at Old Trafford.
And Everton may have the advantage over any of their rivals in the hunt for Smalling.
Everton finished in seventh place in the Premier League over the past season, which means that they have qualified for the Europa League.

And being able to continue to play European football could be crucial to Smalling’s decision over which club he joins next.
If Smalling is keen to have another chance to play in the Europa League, then Everton is the obvious club for him to join – and Koeman’s side success last season could pay off in the transfer market for the first time.
