Oumar Niasse hasn’t started a single Premier League game for Everton since his former Hull City manager took over at Goodison Park.
Oumar Niasse might have been hoping of a big role at Everton this season. After all, The Toffees did appoint Marco Silva in the summer – the highly-rated Portuguese coach he impressed under during that 2016/17 loan spell at Hull City.
But, somewhat surprisingly, the Senegal striker has struggled to force his way into Silva’s plans at Goodison Park.
In eight Premier League games, Niasse has made just four substitute appearances for a grand total of just 48 minutes. He has failed to score in that time too with a close-range thump against the cross bar in the recent home defeat to West Ham fresh in the memory.
And according to Turkish Football, Everton have now told Niasse that he is free to leave in January with long-standing suitors Galatasaray keen to bring the former Akhisar Belediyespor man back to the Super Lig.
But what do Everton fans think about the potential exit of their £13 million, £55,000-a-week striker?
Niasse boasted a very impressive goals-per-game record last season, netting eight times in 10 league starts, but there is a feeling that The Toffees need to upgrade players like him if they are to put an end to years of mediocrity.
I hope Niasse gets his move to Turkey as I am sure he will prove to be a decent acquisition. He works hard but like Cenk finding the net is a problem for him. It will be interesting to see what Silva and Brands do about our centre forward problem.
