Rafa Silva’s struggles at Benfica have not put off potential suitors, with Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers hoping to bring the winger to England.

With Wolves 11 points clear at the top of the Championship, they should use the January transfer window to sign players who they believe are Premier League, rather than second tier, quality.
And it appears they are doing exactly that with Valencia’s exciting young striker Rafa Mir arriving from under the noses of Real Madrid. And Rafa Silva, the Portuguese international winger heavily linked with a move to Molineux, would be another hugely promising addition to an already exceptional squad.
According to Record in November, Rafa Silva’s struggles since becoming Benfica’s second most expensive player for £14.5 million could lead to him adding to the Iberian contingent at Wolves in the New Year; thanks again to super-agent Jorge Mendes.

Although Silva has proved to be a disappointment since joining from Braga in 2016, starting only one Primeira Liga game this season, the 24-year-old is a player with huge potential and still has youth on his side. He was not named the ‘Portuguese Eden Hazard’ for nothing.
But the chances of Silva enhancing Wolves’ squad this month may have received a blow with A Bola reporting on Sunday that Everton are keen to offer the winger an immediate move to the Premier League.

It is understood that the Toffees, who are in need of a replacement for Olympiakos-bound Kevin Mirallas, are interested in signing Silva on loan until the end of the season, when Benfica will give them the option to sign him permanently for £26.5 million.
Needless to say, if Wolves do manage to lure Silva to the Black Country, the deal would look even more impressive now with the ambitious, deep-pocketed Everton showing interest.
But with Ruben Neves and Diego Jota already shining in gold, it would not be the first time Wolves have signed a player of real star quality.
