Everton could reportedly still loan out Oumar Niasse after Crystal Palace deal collapsed

Oumar Niasse should have swapped Everton for Crystal Palace but is still on the lookout for an escape route.

Deadline day did not go the way Oumar Niasse would have wanted. According to The Times, the Senegalese flop was close to an escape route out of Everton having undergone a medical ahead of a £7 million move to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.

However, the report adds that a deal fell through as Niasse’s representative demanded a six-figure agent fee – leading Niasse to storm out of Selhurst Park and contemplate a miserable few months stuck in Everton’s reserves.

The deal’s collapse worked out well for precisely nobody, particularly Palace, who were crying out for cover for Christian Benteke.

However, Turkish publication Fanatik reports that there is still a chance Everton could get Niasse, who did not score a goal for the club after joining from Lokomotiv Moscow for £13 million in January 2016, off their books by the end of the week.

Because the Turkish transfer window does not shut until Friday, meaning Fenerbahce are now ready to offer Everton around £2 million to loan Niasse for the remainder of the season.

Everton may not be too impressed by the idea of letting Niasse go for £2 million having failed to sell him for £7 million just last week.

However, with the striker not in Ronald Koeman’s plans, it makes sense to let him recapture some form elsewhere and ensure they could still recoup a decent portion of their fee by selling him next summer.

Niasse spent the second half of last season on loan at Hull City and scored his only goals, four in 17 games to be precise, since moving to England.
