Tyias Browning hasn’t made a Premier League appearance for Everton all season but could he drop down to the Championship?
At the age of 24, Tyias Browning really would have hoped to force his way into Everton’s first-team plans right now.
But a defender who looked promising during the reign of Roberto Martinez has slipped well down the pecking order since the Spaniard’s 2016 departure, especially with the likes of Michael Keane, Kurt Zouma and Yerry Mina arriving at Goodison Park.
As a result, it is expected that Browning will leave on loan this month having spent last season at Sunderland.
And, speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Everton’s U23 coach David Unsworth has suggested that the Liverpool-born centre-back is on the verge of an exit.
“I’m hopeful. He might have something very soon to announce,” Unsworth said.
“Certainly, hopefully, in the next 24-48 hours we might have something to announce.”
It remains to be seen where Browning ends up, however. Sky Sports claimed last week that Aston Villa were keen to take the defender on loan but it remains to be seen whether Dean Smith’s side will still make a move after landing Kortney Hause from Wolves.
Aston Villa are understood to be interested in the Le Havre youngster Harold Moukoudi but signing him would be easier said than done with Made In Foot claiming that West Ham, Napoli, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund are also tracking the 21-year-old Frenchman.
So Browning should still be an option for a Villa side battered 3-0 by Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
