Matt Doherty has impressed for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season, as has his Republic of Ireland teammate Seamus Coleman.

Seamus Coleman has paid tribute to Wolverhampton Wanderers full-back Matt Doherty, describing his Republic of Ireland team-mate Matt Doherty as a ‘top player’ in quotes reported by the Irish Independent.
Ireland might not be able to call upon a nucleus of established Premier League stars these days but manager Mick McCarthy still has two of the first divisions most impressive right-backs at his disposal.
Coleman has been one of the first names on Everton’s team sheet for the best part of a decade while Doherty has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water since Wolves were promoted last year.
The 27-year-old has three goals and four assists for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in 2018/19. So McCarthy has a tough decision to make about who should be his number one for the ROI, though he started Doherty in a more advanced role ahead of Coleman during the recent international break.

And Coleman has now paid tribute to his competitor.
“(Doherty) is a top player and it is very easy to play with top players,” said the 30-year-old. “He’s been the best attacking wing-back in the Premier League to be quite honest.
In a team full of established internationals and big-name stars like Rui Patricio, Raul Jimenez and Joao Moutinho, Doherty remains one of the most underrated players in Wolves’ squad and the Premier League as a whole.
