Ben Brereton could be set for a big season in the Championship with Nottingham Forest.

Ben Brereton showed exactly why he has been tipped for great things by many Nottingham Forest supporters in England’s victory against Turkey in the opening game of the European U19 Championship on Tuesday.
A clever run off the shoulder of the last defender preceded a perfect first-touch and a supremely composed finish as Brereton scored England’s second of a dramatic 3-2 win.
And Forest supporters have not wasted an opportunity to point out, once again, that Brereton is one of the most exciting talents outside of the Premier League.
Yes, he scored just five goals in 35 Championship games last season but the fact that Brereton has his doubters among the City Ground support appears to baffle the majority. Not only is the striker just 18 years of age and still a very raw talent, he also had to play on the wing more often than he probably would have liked.

When on fire and through the middle, Brereton can be a joy to watch. It is only six months since he terrorised Arsenal and World Cup winning centre-back Per Mertesacker, as Forest thrashed The Gunners 4-2 in the FA Cup after all.
If Aitor Karanka gets the best out of Brereton next season, and with more creative players around him, expect a big season on the horizon.
