Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson give Rangers reason to rekindle Arsenal relationship

Rangers have loaned players from Premier League giants Arsenal before and Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah could rip up the Scottish Premiership.

Arsenal will let two of their most exciting youngsters leave on loan next season in order to build their experience and give them the tools to fight for a place in the Gunners’ first-team, according to the Sun.

And Rangers should make a note of this. After all, the Scottish giants have enjoyed a good relationship with Arsenal over the last few years, with Kyle Bartley, Gedion Zelalem and Jon Toral all enjoying impressive spells at Ibrox from the Premier League giants.

Therefore, both Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson should be considered to follow in their footsteps in order to make their names north of the border.

18-year-old Nketiah is one of the most exciting young strikers in English football right now. Few had ever heard of the teenager when he came off the bench in an EFL Cup clash with Norwich City earlier this season.

By the end of extra time, however, everybody knew his name. Nketiah had scored two trademark poacher’s goals, the kind he has scored nine times in 11 games for the under-23s this season.

Nelson, meanwhile, has been turning heads for a while longer after some impressive performances against major opposition in pre-season. The 18-year-old, who made his Premier League debut in December, is a skilful street footballer who has featured five times for England’s under-19s.

But, thanks in part to the January arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Nketiah and Nelson are no closer to first-team opportunities at Arsenal.

Both, however, could make a real impact at Ibrox if an exciting Rangers side built around youth and potential decide to rekindle their relationship with Arsenal.
