James McClean could finally get his wish of playing at Celtic Park.

Celtic are due to face Republic of Ireland in a testimonial match to mark Scott Brown’s decade in green and white and expect boyhood Hoops fanatic McClean to be one of the first names on the team-sheet.

But Celtic supporters would be keen on the idea of the Irish winger sticking around on the green half of Glasgow, especially if Scott Sinclair leaves this summer.

As reported by the Scottish Sun, 29-year-old Sinclair is unsettled in Scotland and is targeting a return to England with both Brighton and Bournemouth interested.

The former Aston Villa winger, who cost £3.5 million in the summer of 2016, is the Scottish Premiership’s reigning Golden Boot winner and Player of the Year, but he has looked a shadow of his former self in the last few months.

Some Celtic fans have seemingly lost patience with Sinclair and appear to have already earmarked his successor.

Now, there is a good chance that McClean could be on the market this summer with a cash strapped West Brom side bottom of the Premier League and heading for the Championship.

And, if his dream move does happen, McClean would be welcomed at Celtic with open arms.
