Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers will spend big in this summer so who is at risk of being shoved out of Molineux?

If you thought Wolverhampton Wanderers were spending big in the Championship, just wait till they are a Premier League side.
So with Chinese investors Fosun International prepared to put their money where their mouth is to establish Wolves as a domestic force to be reckoned with, there are a couple of players in Nuno Espirito Santo’s current squad who need to shape up or ship out.
Danny Batth
Centre-back Batth might be one of the few homegrown players in Wolves’ increasingly continental squad but that does not make him a fans’ favourite. The club captain has come in for major criticism at times this season, particularly after the 4-1 thrashing at local rivals Aston Villa.

Coupled with the fact that he has started just 12 Championship games this season and Batth’s long association with Wolves, the club he joined all the way back in the year 2000, could come to an end this summer.
Helder Costa
It seems a little odd to put Wolves’ reigning Player of the Year in this list, but Costa, who was briefly the club’s record signing when he made his loan move from Benfica permanent for £13 million in January 2017, has been a shadow of the player who took the Championship by storm last season.

Injuries haven’t helped his cause but Costa has been overshadowed by Diogo Jota and Ivan Cavaleiro, scoring just four and assisting a further five in the Championship in 2017/18.
Amid reports that Wolves could make Brazilian international Anderson Talisca their biggest signing yet, Costa could do with recapturing last season’s vintage.
Leo Bonatini
Brazilian striker Bonatini has made it clear that he would like to stay at Molineux for the long-term, but the Al-Hilal loanee has not yet been snapped up by the Championship leaders despite the fact they have the option to do so for just £5 million.

This is probably something to do with the fact that Bontini hasn’t scored since the fourth of December, a run of 18 games in all competitions.
He has fallen behind Benik Afobe in the pecking order and Wolves can surely sign better in the summer.
