Championship giants Nottingham Forest reportedly want to sign El Arabi Hillel Soudani from Dinamo Zagreb and Jack Marriott from Peterborough United.

Goalscoring was arguably Nottingham Forest’s biggest problem as they finished 17th in the Championship last season.

It has been well documented that not one player in Forest’s squad hit double figures in the league during 2017/18, the Everton loanee Kieran Dowell top scoring with a grand total of nine.

So the prospect of signing two strikers who scored a combined total of 51 goals last season has understandably got supporters dreaming of better times to come at the City Ground.

Forest have been heavily linked with Peterborough United’s 33-goal sensation Jack Marriott, who the Mail believes is rated at £5 million. The 23-year-old striker, who models his game on Sergio Aguero, is also understood to be Marriott’s preferred destination due to the club’s rich history.

Marriott is not the only prolific striker linked with a move to the East Midlands, however. La Buteur claims that Dinamo Zagreb’s long-standing talisman El Arabi Hillel Soudani is set to join Nottingham Forest this summer after another remarkable season in Croatia.

Zagreb won the league title, finishing three points clear of Rijeka, with Soudani named the Player of the Year and the league’s top scorer. The 30-year-old Algerian scored 18 times in all competitions.

So the prospect of the versatile Soudani playing just behind Marriott in Forest’s attack next season understandably has supporters drooling. Are Forest two signings away from a title charge?
