Aston Villa grabbed the bragging rights and the three points when beating Midlands and Championship rivals Birmingham City 4-2 at Villa Park.

You can imagine that plenty of Birmingham City fans will be keeping their heads down heading into work on Monday morning.
Because Aston Villa painted the Second City claret and blue on Sunday afternoon, beating their bitter Midland rivals 4-2 in a thrilling clash at Villa Park.
The in-form Lukas Jutkiewicz put Birmingham ahead midway through the first half but Dean Smith’s side roared back through Jonathan Kodjia, Jack Grealish and Tammy Abraham before full-back Alan Hutton cemented his place in Aston Villa folklore with a stunning long-range clincher late on.

So no wonder the Villa fans were quick to respond to Birmingham hero Mikael Forssell on Twitter as the former Finland international issued a rallying cry ahead of the return fixture in March.
Birmingham had their chances at Villa Park and the result might have been different if they could call on a striker like Forssell’s pedigree. The former Chelsea and Leeds United forward scored 37 goals for The Blues in two spells between 2003 and 2008.
And while Brum fans can still take plenty of positives out of their performance, this won’t stop their claret and blue clad neighbours, friends and family members from sticking the boot in over the next few days.
