Scottish Premiership giants Rangers were reportedly considering selling Eduardo Herrera in January and he failed to impress against Fraserburgh.

Eduardo Herrera might have played only the last 20 minutes on Wednesday night, but he did more than enough to once again find himself subject to intense, social media criticism from the Rangers fans.
After all, the Mexican international’s inability to make any sort of impact against a side from the Highland league does not bode well. Rangers cruised to a 3-0 win away at Fraserburgh in midweek but, while Josh Windass only added to his increasing value with a clinical hat-trick, Herrera once again missed a crucial chance to impress.

Since his £1.5 million move from Pumas UNAM, Herrera has scored just twice in 23 games in all competitions.
No wonder Rangers were considering moving him out in the summer. According to the Daily Record, the Glasgow giants wanted the 29-year-old off the wage bill as he is one of the highest earners in Graeme Murty’s squad.
In truth, Herrera has done very little to suggest he is worthy of his big transfer fee, or heft pay-packet, since moving to Scotland. But unlike Carlos Pena, who returned to Mexico with Cruz Azul, the misfiring target man is set to spend the next few months at least stuck at Ibrox.

The more Herrera struggles in Scotland, the slimmer Rangers’ chances of recouping that ill-judged £1.5 million investment get.
