Wolverhampton Wanderers are stepping up their recruitment drive – but could Pepe be on his way to the Premier League this summer?

Pepe might not be everybody’s cup of tea with his tendency for the odd moment of petulance or Oscar-worthy play-acting earning the defender plenty of enemies around the footballing world.
But the 35-year-old is a natural born winner. His CV reads three Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles with Real Madrid, two Primeira Liga crowns with Porto and the 2016 European Championships with his native Portugal.
So just imagine the experience Pepe would bring to Wolverhampton Wanderers should he join his international team-mates Joao Moutinho and Rui Patricio in moving to Molinuex this summer.
Turkish publication Fanatik claims that Pepe is aware of interest from Wolves, where his agent Jorge Mendes holds a great deal of sway. Porto, who the Brazil-born veteran represented between 2007 and 2010, are also understood to be interested.

And with just a year left on his Besiktas contract, it is understood that he has a market value of just £6 million – although manager Senol Gunes wants him to remain in Istanbul.
Now, despite Patricio, Moutinho and Ruben Neves, Pepe would probably be the most high profile signing in Wolves’ recent history and yet another sign that this club are a force to be reckoned with.
