Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are reportedly in talks to sign George Baldock from Premier League newcomers Sheffield United.

No one could ever question George Baldock’s professionalism or his single-minded will to win.
The right-back was a huge part of a Sheffield United side who ended their 12 year absence from the Premier League last season and, according to the Mail, Celtic are hoping to sign him in order to finally solve their problem position.
Apparently, talks have already been held with Baldock keen on a move to the Scottish Premiership champions. And, with just one year left on his contract, Sheffield United could let the Buckingham-born defender go.
But what would Celtic be getting? Well, according to Blades boss Chris Wilder, an ultra-committed defender who would slide tackle his own mum, let alone his brother, if three points were on the line.
“I don’t have a brother but I’ve got to say, if I did, he’d get booted. George is that type of guy as well, ” Wilder told the Yorkshire Post recently when Baldock prepared to take on his elder sibling Sam, a striker for Reading.

“You have to have the focus he’s got to be doing what he’s doing in his career. He’s got to play well regardless of whether his brother is up front or his mum is up front. He’d probably kick her during a game as well!”
If Baldock does arrive in Glasgow, he will be expected to replace long-serving Mikael Lustig, who will see his contract end later this month. Cristian Gamboa and Jeremy Toljan will also bid farewell to Celtic.
