And so the transfer merry-go-round starts to turn.
Arsenal, Brentford and Celtic found themselves inextricably intertwined heading into deadline day and now the wheels are in motion. Kieran Tierney, Celtic’s talisman and fans’ favourite, is bidding farewell to his boyhood club. He has signed for the Gunners in a £25 million deal.
Not that Celtic didn’t see this coming. Earlier in the week, the Sun claimed that the Hoops would move for £7 million-rated Brentford flyer Rico Henry once Tierney said his emotional goodbyes to the club that turned him into a star.
And Brentford themselves might be preparing for Henry replace Tierney on the green half of Glasgow. Because, as reported by One Football, young Arsenal defender Dominic Thompson has sealed a £3 million move to Griffin Park. The fact he is a left-back is surely no coincidence.

So with two deals down, there’s just one to go. The ball is in Celtic’s court now with the Bees seemingly freeing up Henry to fill the boots of arguably the most influential full-back in Scottish football for many a year.
No pressure Rico.
But a 22-year-old who was likened to the legendary Andy Cole by his former Brentford and Walsall manager Dean Smith (BBC), he should be confident of fitting snugly into these rather big shoes.
