Gaz Metan’s exciting Romanian forward Olaru is seemingly a target for Aston Villa and Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Darius Olaru is one of the most promising talents in Romanian football, but it seems unlikely that he will hone his trade in his homeland.
The 20-year-old forward currently plies his trade with Gaz Metan, the club who are currently eighth in the Liga 1 table. But, speaking to Gazeta Sporturilor, agent Arcadie Zaporojanu has revealed that Aston Villa are keen to bring Olaru to England in the near future.
“I was in England,” he said. “I gave Aston Villa a few references about him, figures and everything they needed. So far they have not made an official offer to Gaz Metan.
“They want to get as much information, see matches with him and make a clear idea.”
Villa manager Dean Smith is famed for his ability to get the best out of young players so the Midland side could be the perfect club for Olaru.

However, Villa will face some rather substantial competition with Zaporojanu pointing out that Borussia Dortmund are also keeping tabs on the versatile forward, who can play on the right or the left but has often featured through the middle this season.
The Bundesliga leaders have provided a platform for some of Europe’s greatest talents in recent years with Jadon Sancho, Christian Pulisic, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Achraf Hakimi currently plying their trade in yellow and black.
Olaru has scored once for Gaz Metan in the Romanian top flight in 2018/19 while contributing three assists.
