Herbie Kane is on loan at Doncaster Rovers from Liverpool and has been named in the League One Team of the Season.

Herbie Kane is still some way away from emulating his hero Steven Gerrard and patrolling Premier League midfields, but the youngster has certainly come on leaps and bounds this season.
The Bristol-born 20-year-old has spent the campaign on loan at Doncaster Rovers and he has made a huge impression in the third tier in English football. A midfielder who grew up idolising Liverpool’s legendary number eight has scored seven goals and produced nine assists to date.
“Herbie is different class,” Rovers manager Grant McCann told the Doncaster Free Press in November after Kane curled home a sublime long-range strike in an FA Cup clash with non-league Chorley Town.
So it was only fitting that Kane’s breakthrough season would end with him included in the official League One Team of the Season.
The former England U17 international is just one of a number of Reds-owned youngsters who have shone away at Anfield this season. Ryan Kent has been exceptional at Rangers, Marko Grujic has stood out at Hertha Berlin while Harry Wilson was included in the Championship’s own Team of the Season after a stellar spell at Derby County.
But surely Kane now deserves his chance under Jurgen Klopp. Although the Doncaster fans would love to see him player.
