After failing to play a Premier League game for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Iorfa returned to the Championship with Steve Bruce’s Owls on deadline day.

New Sheffield Wednesday signing Dominic Iorfa has admitted that he was set to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan for another Championship club in the January transfer window, before speaking to Owls boss Steve Bruce.
After six years at Wolves, Iorfa bid farewell to Molineux on transfer deadline day, joining Sheffield Wednesday for a bargain £500,000 after slipping down the pecking order under Nuno Espirito Santo (Sky).
Speaking to the Star, the former England U21 international has admitted that he had a number of offers from other clubs and was initially prepared to join a rival second-tier side on a short-term loan deal until the end of the season.
But after speaking to new Wednesday boss Steve Bruce, Iorfa admits that he jumped at the chance to sign a permanent contract with the Steel City giants.
“I was originally going to go to another team on loan in the Championship but once I knew about Wednesday’s interest I swayed more to this,” said the 23-year-old.

“I wanted to come here after finding out about the manager’s plans. I was delighted to come here and the fact it was a permanent as well means I can settle down and focus on my football.”
“It was a bit stressful but once everything was sorted I was delighted.”
A permanent move away from Wolves is probably the best thing for Iorfa, who had failed to make a single Premier League appearance all season and barely made an impact in the club’s Championship title winning campaign in 2017/18.
Versatile enough to play at centre-half and right-back, Iorfa should be guaranteed a much larger role at his new employers.
