Former Watford manager Marco Silva has turned down the chance to replace Alan Pardew at West Brom with Everton’s own coaching situation unclear.

It is no secret that Marco Silva was very keen on the Everton job when the opportunity arose earlier in the season.
The report even claimed that Everton were willing to offer £10 million in compensation to bring Silva to Goodison Park. Though it is fair to say the situation did not end well for either party.

Watford refused to let Silva go and, just two months later, sacked him following a disastrous run of results and blamed an unnamed league rival, most certainly Everton, for turning their manager’s head.
But perhaps the now out of work Silva still has his heart set on taking over on Merseyside, because according to The Telegraph, the former Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos boss has turned down the chance to save West Brom, meaning the under-fire Alan Pardew is likely to remain in charge for now.

It is understood that Silva has higher hopes than the side eight points adrift of safety and bottom of the Premier League.
And with doubts surrounding the long-term future of Sam Allardyce, with Everton seemingly identifying potential successors to the unpopular veteran, Silva’s name is sure to come up again.
Maybe part of the reason for the highly-rated Portuguese turning down West Brom is speculation that the Everton post will be available again in the near future.
