Manchester United’s £31m defender Victor Lindelof was reportedly wanted by Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers before the World Cup began.

It has gone a little quiet on the Victor Lindelof to Wolverhampton Wanderers front.
With the Swedish centre-back represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, it always seemed inevitable that Wolves would be at the front of the queue with Premier League clubs reportedly wanting to take the £31 million Manchester United man on loan next season.
That was two months ago. And since then Lindelof has shown why Manchester United decided to make him their most expensive defender ever with a series of solid performances at the World Cup, particularly in Sweden’s 2-0 defeat to England on Saturday.
BBC pundit and United legend Rio Ferdinand, whose price-tag Lindelof exceeded last summer, even went as far as to describe him as immense.

As it stands, Lindelof now looks a better addition than ever for Wolves, whose fans might have been umming and ahing about his potential arrival after a nervy debut season in English football. But has the chance now passed them by?
Maybe Wolves should have stepped up their interest before the World Cup began.
