Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos would surely jump at the chance to leave the Scottish Premiership for the Premier League – Celtic know how that feels.

If Alfredo Morelos is trying to be subtle about his desire to secure a move to the Premier League in the off-season, he is not exactly going the right way about it.
Not for the first time since the turn of the year, the Colombian striker has been very open when discussing a potential move away from Ibrox in a few months’ time despite only signing for Rangers as recently as last summer.
”I like the English Premier League very much,” Morelos said in quotes reported by the Daily Record.
“Scotland’s football is very close to the Premier League, even our league has a very similar name to it. I know clubs from all over England will be watching me and that encourages me to do well.”

You’d forgive Rangers for growing quite frustrated by the actions of a player who was handed his big break by the Glasgow giants. After all, barely anyone had heard of Alfredo Morelos when he arrived from Finnish outfit HJK Helsinki for £1 million, as reported by the Daily Record.
Harsh reality
It seems that Morelos, who is second only to Kris Boyd in the Golden Boot race this season, sees one of the most historic and successful clubs in European football as a stepping stone. But a Rangers side now back in the top flight will have to get used to this – just like their bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic.
The likes of Joe Ledley, Ki-Sung Yeung, Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama won trophy after trophy with Celtic but eventually swapped the club at the top of the Scottish game for a side slap-bang in the middle of the English Premier League.

The rewards, however, are clear to see – greater exposure and bigger wages for a start.
And though it may rankle, Rangers fans should be aware that Morelos will not be the only little-known talent who will put pen to paper at Ibrox while day-dreaming of the Premier League.
