Premier League duo Spurs and Manchester United have both been linked with Sampdoria’s Serie A defender Joachim Andersen.

The race to sign Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen appears to be becoming a straight fight between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
Spurs appear to have spent the last few months scouring the market for a centre-back capable of replacing Toby Alderweireld should the Belgian leave when his contract expires in July, while Manchester United’s defensive deficiencies have been clear for all to see since the start of the season.
Calciomercato claimed earlier in November that the 22-year-old’s agent had travelled to England for talks with Tottenham, while Sky Sports have identified Andersen as a target for Jose Mourinho’s under-performing side too.
But while the Red Devils probably have the financial firepower to blow their North London opponents out the water, do Spurs have a secret weapon – one by the name of Christian Eriksen?

Former Copenhagen and FC Twente defender Andersen hails from Denmark, like the Spurs playmaker. And the chance to play alongside the most talented Danish player of his generation, and arguably the best since Michael Laudrup, will surely appeal to a player who looks set to become a stalwart for his nation in the coming years.
Eriksen has gone from a precocious young talent into one of the world’s finest attacking midfielders under Mauricio Pochettino – and this should give Andersen the belief that he could follow in his compatriots footsteps.
Calciomercato claims Andersen will cost an affordable £22 million.
