Championship duo Swansea City and Aston Villa are both reportedly keen on Kilmarnock’s Scottish Premiership winger Jordan Jones.

If Jordan Jones has outgrown the Scottish Premiership, there’s no shortage of clubs willing to offer the Kilmarnock winger a route back to the English game.
According to The Mail, both Aston Villa and Swansea City are keen on the 24-year-old heading into the January transfer window. The Championship duo both sent scouts to watch Jones during Northern Ireland’s 2-1 UEFA Nations League defeat to Austria on Sunday.
But who needs him more – Dean Smith or Graham Potter? A quick look at the stats certainly suggest that Swansea, rather than Aston Villa, could do with a winger renowned for his speed, skill and ability to produce something out of nothing.
The Swans, after all, have scored just 19 Championship goals this season – eight fewer than Villa. In fact, only five second tier sides have hit the net less regularly than Potter’s South Welsh charges.

Aston Villa, however, could see Jones as a long-term option rather than a player for the here and now. Yannick Bolasie and Anwar El Ghazi are only at Villa on loan from Everton and Lille respectively, after all, and Jones could replace either one of them come the end of the campaign.
But with Swansea’s lack of goals seemingly the biggest obstacle blocking a potential return to the Premier League, Jones is exactly the sort of mercurial talent who could turn those five draws into wins.
