David Moyes has endured a mixed time as manager of Premier League basket-case West Ham – but is already planning for the summer.

Will David Moyes still be West Ham United’s manager next season? Well, the events of the last few days suggest yes is the answer.
The experienced Scot’s contract at the London Stadium expires at the end of 2017/18 and speculation intensified around the turn of the year that West Ham would look to replace him in the summer.
But the Standard believes that is wide of the mark – and claims that the club will offer Moyes an extended contract on the provision that he keeps the Claret and Blues in the top flight. Saturday’s 3-0 thrashing of relegation rivals Southampton certainly helps in that regard.

And the signs suggest that West Ham are indeed planning for Moyes to still be at the helm by the time next season kicks off, because the former Manchester United and Sunderland manager appears to have stepped up his pursuit of a number of summer transfer targets.
It is understood that Moyes was present at Craven Cottage as Fulham beat Leeds United 2-0 on Tuesday night with Ryan Fredericks, Tom Cairney and Aleksandar Mitrovic under the microscope. The 54-year-old also likes Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, according to The Sun.

And the Mirror has now offered an even bigger indication that Moyes will remain in charge, saying that he wants to stay in the capital.
The West Ham board are understood to be pleased with the discipline he has instilled within the squad and, if they are giving him the blessing to go and scout his own targets, this suggests they are ready to stand firm behind their manager.
