The on-loan Liverpool striker says Jurgen Klopp has not been in touch since he left for Wolfsburg.

Divock Origi has revealed to Kicker that he has not spoken to Jurgen Klopp since leaving Liverpool for Wolfsburg on loan.

The Belgian striker moved to Germany on a season-long deal this summer and has scored two goals in six games for his new club.

But Liverpool manager Klopp has not been in contact to check up on the progress of the 22-year-old.

“I must focus on myself. The future will show what happens. You never know in football,” Origi told Kicker.

“He [Klopp] is focused on Liverpool, and I am focused on my task here.”

Klopp has had his hands full back at Anfield, where Liverpool’s defensive issues are threatening to derail their top-four challenge

They have no such problems at the other end of the pitch and thrashed Maribor 7-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Having Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge, Dominic Solanke and Danny Ings to compete with for forward positions means that Origi’s path to the first team at Liverpool appears to be blocked.

He has scored 21 goals in 77 appearances for the Reds, although only 36 of those came as a starter.

Klopp’s silent treatment suggests that Origi’s Liverpool career is at best a low priority, and possibly even over already.
