Prince Oniangue has sealed his departure from Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers, re-joining Caen in Ligue 1.

You could forgive Wolverhampton Wanderers fans for forgetting all about Prince Oniangue.
The Congolese midfielder almost feels like a player from an entirely different era despite arriving at Molineux just two years ago in a £2million deal from Reims. Walter Zenga was in charge of Wolves back then and Oniangue was fighting for a place in central midfield with the likes of Jack Price and Lee Evans.
In the last year, however, Wolves have cruised to the Championship title, returned to the Premier League and, in truth, passed Oniangue by.
Despite some impressive performances in his early days in English football, the 29-year-old returned to France via a loan spell at Bastia in January 2017 after just 11 appearances in Wolves colours. And he spend the entirety of last season at Angers, making 14 starts in Ligue 1.

Now, the 35-cap international’s Wolves career is over for good. Oniangue has re-joined former club Caen on a four-year deal. And with the likes of Ruben Neves now in Nuno Espirito Santo’s midfield, it’s fair to say he probably won’t be missed.
Though his departure has been met with a tinge of sadness from some Wolves supporters who expected big things from their Prince in gold.
