West Bromwich Albion were keen to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic from Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the January transfer window.

West Brom looks like they missed an excellent opportunity in the January transfer window when they failed to sign Newcastle United’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.
According to The Sun, it would have taken £15 million to convince Newcastle to sell.

But that is not to say Mitrovic would not have stopped West Brom from plummeting into the Championship – that looks to have been more than a one-player job.
But, if West Brom had signed the 23-year-old they might have already grabbed the man capable of ensuring their stay in the second tier of English football is a short one, as Mitrovic, of course, has been in quite astounding form since he dropped down to the second tier with a loan spell at Fulham in January.
Mitrovic scored his eighth goal in just nine starts for The Cottagers during Tuesday’s 2-0 win against Leeds United, and is showing just how prolific he can be when he plays regularly under a manager who trusts and believes in his ability.

West Brom, however, have struggled for goals all season and look set to lose both Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez this summer. In Mitrovic, they could have had a saviour ready and waiting.
