Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa was the subject of a failed deadline day move from West Ham United before joining Premier League rivals Fulham.

Initially, it looked like West Ham United had missed out on a brilliant signing in Franck-Andre Zambo Anguissa.
Fulham paid £30 million to sign the Cameroon international from Marseille on transfer deadline day – but not before West Ham had made one last attempt to try and lure the midfield powerhouse to the London Stadium, according to The Standard.
Now, with a dreadful start to the season highlighting the lack of energy and power in West Ham’s midfield, particularly with Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere looking out of their depth, a player with Anguissa’s characteristics really looked like the missing link.
That, however, was before he had been given a run in Fulham’s midfield. And, on Monday night’s evidence, maybe West Ham instead dodged a bullet by failing to sign a player struggling to live up to his £30 million price-tag.

Anguissa was given the runaround by a fired-up Huddersfield Town side on Monday night, dominated by Aaron Mooy, Phillip Billing and Jonathan Hogg while looking miles off the pace as Fulham dropped to the foot of the Premier League with a 1-0 defeat at the John Smith’s Stadium.
If a ‘Flop of the Season’ award was given out tomorrow, Anguissa would be right among the front-runners, with Fulham fans and neutrals alike taking to Twitter to question why such a fee was invested in the struggling midfielder.
Perhaps he wasn’t the man West Ham needed after all.
