Championship promotion chasers West Bromwich Albion are reportedly set to sign Saul Shotton from Bury.

To say the last few months have been a nightmare for Bury fans is the understatement of the century.
But after weeks of uncertainty, fury on the terraces and their eventual, inevitable expulsion from the Football League, fans of the Shakers can at least take some pride in knowing that Saul Shotton has a bright future – even if this proud old club does not.
According to the Mail, a talented young defender who found himself without a club after Bury were thrown out of the third tier is about to be handed his big break. And even the most heavy-hearted Gigg Lane regular couldn’t begrudge him that.

Shotton is set to sign a two-year contract with West Bromwich Albion, one of the biggest and most ambitious clubs in the Championship, with the Mail claiming that the Baggies have beaten Preston North End, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday to his signature.
Former Stoke City youngster Shotton made just four league appearances in Bury colours but that was still enough time for the teenager to make a lasting impression on the supporters. And he is heading to West Brom with all the goodwill in the world.
