Steven Gerrard’s Rangers beat Scottish Premiership rivals 4-2 at Pittodrie on Wednesday thanks to two goals from Alfredo Morelos.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes believes Greg Stewart gave Borna Barisic a torrid time in their 4-2 home defeat to Rangers on Wednesday night, as reported by the Press and Journal.
Steven Gerrard’s Gers produced arguably their finest performance of the Scottish Premiership season on Wednesday night despite Alfredo Morelos being sent off for the third time in four games against the Dons this season alone.
Morelos himself scored twice, while James Tavernier and Jermain Defoe were also on the score sheet, meaning Sam Cosgrove’s brace meant little at the final whistle.
But, in the eyes of McInnes, Barisic was something of a weak link in the second half, the Croatian international enduring a difficult second 45 against the direct and skilful Stewart.

“We worked hard to get Greg Stewart central in the first half and I don’t like playing Greg out wide, but he was outstanding out there,” said the former West Brom captain.
“He tortured Barisic in the second half.”
The left-back, a £2 million signing from NK Osijek last summer (the Mail), has recovered from a long spell on the sidelines to force his way back into Gerrard’s starting XI.
Even if he struggled at times against Stewart, Barisic gives Rangers far more balance and attacking threat than the likes of Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday when he starts on the flank.
