Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United thrashed Frank Lampard’s Derby County 4-1 at Pride Park in the second game of the Championship season.

It is fair to say Derby County will be hoping for a better result this time around as they travel to Leeds on Friday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side thrashed the Rams 4-1 on their own turf in the second game of the Championship season, Frank Lampard suffering a humiliating home defeat right at the start of his managerial career.
But, with Derby set to make the trip to Elland Road this week, revenge is on the mind. At least that is according to winger Duane Holmes.
“It wasn’t pretty viewing when we played Leeds at our place but we’re full of confidence and I feel we can go there and get a result,” the 24-year-old told the Derby Telegraph.
“It’s a big game against Leeds and one we’re hoping to win.
“I grew up playing for Huddersfield, so it would be nice to get one over on Leeds!”

Holmes, who moved to Derby from Scunthorpe United in the summer, has forced his way into Lampard’s first-team plans of late with a series of eye-catching cameo appearances off the bench.
As it stands, Holmes’ Derby side are sixth in the Championship table and they could be facing Leeds at the perfect time, given that the Whites have lost three games in a row for the first time since Bielsa arrived in West Yorkshire.
Leeds were beaten 2-0 at home by Hull and lost 4-2 against Nottingham Forest in their last two league games before a disappointing defeat in the FA Cup third round to QPR on Saturday.
