Championship hopefuls Derby County have signed Mason Mount on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

How excited should Derby County fans be about the arrival of Mason Mount at Pride Park on a season-long loan? Well, if you ask their Chelsea counterparts, very.
Frank Lampard has landed the 19-year-old midfielder on a temporary basis from his former side with BBC Derby Sport posting a picture on Tuesday morning of Mount holding up the famous white kit alongside his new manager.
The East Midlands outfit have been linked with the Portsmouth-born talent for a number of weeks now and his arrival brings an end to a prolonged pursuit. And, if Chelsea fans are to be believed, the Rams are pulling off one of the best signings of this Championship season.
Mount might not have made his Chelsea debut just yet but he has an outstanding record at youth level with the Blues boasting by far the most successful academy team anywhere in England. But that is not to say the England U19 ace is not proven at first-team level.

He was brilliant on loan at Vitesse Arnhem last season, scoring 14 goals and setting up 10 more in Holland while establishing himself as one of the most creative and unpredictable talents in English football.
Derby could be the next big step in his development.
