Hadi Sacko looks to have played his last Championship game for Leeds United with a move to the Turkish Super Lig on the cards.

Denizlispor manager Yucel Ildiz has admitted to TRT Sports that the Turkish Super Lig newcomers are keen to sign Hadi Sacko from Leeds United this summer.

A lot has changed since the Mali international arrived at Elland Road in the summer of 2016, initially on loan from Sporting Lisbon before sealing a £1.5 million permanent move (Yorkshire Evening Post).

Three years ago, Leeds were beginning a new era under Garry Monk. Now, they are preparing for a second season under Marcelo Bielsa with an almost entirely different squad. Sacko is one of the few survivors.

But it seems that he, like Caleb Ekuban, Pawel Cibicki and Marcus Antonsson, will be discarded by Bielsa without ever playing a Championship game under the Argentine tactician.

Denizlispor were rumoured to be interested earlier in the week, via Hurriyet, and coach Ildiz has now confirmed that the speculation was absolutely spot on.

“It is true that we’re interested in Sakho,” he said, before hinting that a deal was very close to being done already.

“We need an official announcement, I can’t say we signed him (yet). We need to wait for an announcement from the club.”

Sacko played 15 games on loan at Ankaragucu in the Turkish top flight last season, scoring three goals.

And he is unlikely to be missed by Leeds fans. Yes, he was a popular figure for his affable attitude on and off the pitch but the fact that he is as famous for a total lack of end product as he is for his breathtaking pace speaks volumes.
