Jack Grealish has not scored a Championship goal for Aston Villa since being linked with Tottenham Hotspur.

Dean Smith’s chances of getting a tune out of this Aston Villa team could rest on the shoulders of Jack Grealish.
Arguably the most naturally gifted footballer outside the Premier League, Grealish has struggled for form since finding himself at the centre of a prolonged transfer saga linking him with a big-money move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs had a bid of £25 million rejected in August, according to the Telegraph, and the 23-year-old midfielder signed a new five-year deal just a month later.
But Grealish has since managed only one assist in 15 Championship games, while failing to score a single goal. And former Villa striker Dean Saunders has now told the Birmingham-born attacker what he must do to avoid stagnating at his boyhood club.
“What he’s got to do is be a bit more consistent. He’s got to add that to his game, the other side,” Saunders told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (30 October, 9:00am).
“How many players have seen over the years who don’t seem to do it week in week out or fade away?

“He’s got to get that in his game. He’s got the 9 out of ten (performance) in his bag, he can thread the ball through, he can see a pass.”
The Express claimed earlier in October that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was set to make another move for Grealish in January, although Villa hold the cards after tying their local lad down to a long-term deal.
That said, Grealish has to improve his current form if he is to prove he is ready to make the step up.
