Antony Evans scored another stunning goal as Everton came from behind to draw 2-2 with Manchester City in Premier League 2 on Friday.

David Unsworth is in ‘no doubt’ that Antony Evans will leave Everton on loan in January after a couple of sparkling performances for the U23s, while speaking to the Liverpool Echo.
It is no secret that Unsworth is a big fan of a Liverpool-born winger who has three goals and four assists in eight games for the reigning Premier League 2 champions this season.
The former left-back claimed that Evans’ winning goal against Brighton earlier this month was nothing short of ‘world class’, in an interview with the club’s official website, and the 21-year-old was the man of the moment once again when he curled home a glorious free-kick in a 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Friday.
So the question is, has Evans now outgrown the rather sterile environment of second-string football?
As the likes of Harry Kane will tell you, a temporary spell in the Football League can be the making of a young player, instilling that true competitive spirit and an awareness of what is required against grizzled, senior professionals with their mortgage, not to mention three points, on the line.
And Unsworth certainly believes Evans is ready for the step up.

“I still think it will materialise, I just think it will be in January because he’s producing levels of performance and he’s scoring goals now,” the affable Unsworth said.
“It gets his name on the sheet, his profile raised and I think, I’ve no doubt that he’ll get a move.”
Forget his knack for important goals, Evans’ deliver from out wide caught Unsworth’s eye against City with the manager claiming that the winger is an even better crosser of the ball than he ever was.
Sky (live blog, 31 January) claimed that Blackpool tried to sign Evans in January and a spell at a title-chasing League One club like them could be exactly what he needs to progress.
