Free-agent Samir Nasri is training with West Ham United and possibly edging towards a return to the Premier League.

The prospect of Samir Nasri joining West Ham United has left fans and pundits divided.
On one hand, The Hammers could secure the signature of one of the most mercurial midfield talents of his generation, a player capable of producing moments of game-changing quality – all without spending a single penny on a transfer fee.
Nasri is, however, severely lacking in match fitness after spending the last 10 months without a club – while his reputation for being something of a ‘difficult’ character is well established.
Furthermore, the 31-year-old is understood to be set for an £80,000 a week contract should he prove his fitness before January, according to The Standard. Wouldn’t West Ham be better off devoting that money on convincing the brilliant Declan Rice to stay at the London Stadium?
Speaking on Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (26 November, 8.30am), former West Ham manager David Moyes has now given his view on the situation – and suggests that the London giants are targeting free-agent Nasri because of his immediate availability.
“I think they are adding to the squad to make sure they’ve got players,” said Moyes, who left West Ham when his contract expired at the end of last season.

“If they don’t want to spend in January Nasri might be a cheap option at this time of year.”
The former Arsenal and Manchester City play-maker is training with The Hammers in an attempt to earn a contract which would begin in January.
Speaking to The Guardian at the weekend, manager Manuel Pellegrini, who worked with the Frenchman at The Etihad, said he was hoping to rediscover the ‘real Samir Nasri’ in claret and blue.
