Tottenham are reportedly in talks with Espanyol rock David Lopez.

Victor Wanyama has underlined his desire to remain at Tottenham Hotspur of late, but does Spurs’ reported talks over a move to sign Espanyol rock David Lopez jeopardise the Kenyan’s position in north London?
The 26-year-old has endured a difficult season in north London, with injury hampering his progress and seeing him become first reserve to Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele – rather than starting matches himself.

The Daily Mail recently claimed that Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all like the former Southampton hardman, who joined Spurs after manager Mauricio Pochettino had made the move from the Saints.
Wanyama said told Goal: “I am happy at Tottenham and I am committed to the team. I am not aware of anything [regarding a move away] and I am very fine and happy where I am.”
But it may not be as simple as that for the ex-Celtic powerhouse, with Spurs said to be in talks with Espanyol star Lopez over a move to north London, according to PericosOnline.

The report also claims that Newcastle United are interested in the 28-year-old, who can play either at centre-back or indeed in midfield. Lopez’s form this season has been immense, helping Espanyol finish in a decent 11th place.
Lopez has a £35million release clause with the Spanish side but it is yet to be seen if he will cost that much. But with the move now more advanced than just interest, with talks underway, Wanyama’s loyalty to Spurs may mean little.
Indeed, his desire to stay at Spurs may be overlooked by Pochettino’s side, if they bring in what is a like-for-like replacement for Wanyama. Signing Lopez could see Wanyama leave.
