Gini Wijnaldum has started every one of Liverpool’s seven Premier League games this season and there is a reason Jurgen Klopp is such a huge fan.

There has been no shortage of headline performers for Liverpool in the opening weeks of the 2018/19 season.
Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have been in superb form, James Milner is arguably better than he has ever been, while Daniel Sturridge looks to have found his golden touch again after stunning goals against Chelsea in both league and cup this week.
But one man that perhaps deserves more praise is Gini Wijnaldum. The Dutch international was expected to fall down the pecking order after the signings of Fabinho and Naby Keita but he has stepped up in style, starting all seven Premier League games so far this campaign.
And Wijnaldum’s impressive displays have certainly caught the eye of former Anfield favourite Danny Murphy.
“He’s been the real surprise, he’s been really really, good. Terrific,” Murphy, who played for Liverpool between 1997 and 2004, told Jim White on talkSPORT (12.30pm).

27-year-old Wijnaldum arrived on Merseyside from Newcastle United for £25 million in the summer of 2016.
His energy, work-rate and ability to drive forward from deep means he is arguably the archetypal Jurgen Klopp midfielder and has therefore become a hugely important figure under the former Borussia Dortmund boss.
Wijnaldum, who won the Eredivisie title with PSV in 2015, made 50 appearances in all competitions last season, starring as Liverpool reached the Champions League final.
