Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have fallen to sixth in the Scottish Premiership table after losing 1-0 away at Livingston on Sunday.

Rangers lost for only the second time in 18 games under Steven Gerrard away at Livingston on Sunday.
But Gerrard’s former Liverpool teammate Danny Murphy has perhaps issued the perfect response to any supporter who might be feeling a little concerned about a potential stall in their process.
Speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT (1 October, 12.30pm), Murphy has claimed that sorting out the away form should be top of Gerrard’s list of priorities at Ibrox but believes that he, and assistant coach Gary McAllister, have the personality to respond from this most rare of defeats.
“What he’ll be most concerned about is the performance. It’s not losing, it’s how you lose. Overall they’ve done well, their home form is really good. They’ve won all their games in the league and away they’ve won one. It’s obvious what the problem is,” Murphy told talkSPORT.
“He and Garry Mac won’t leave a stone unturned.”
For all the progress Rangers have made since Gerrard and McAllister arrived in the summer, the Glasgow giants are still sixth in the table as things stand having won less than half of their seven league games.

Rangers are now eight points adrift of leaders Hearts, who they host at Ibrox on Sunday next weekend.
“I like how he’s giving different players a chance. It’s a massive game at home to Hearts and what Steven’s learned under the good mangers he’s played under is that one bad performance or result isn’t the end of the world. You have to stay calm.
“Benitez was like that, Houllier was like that, Brendan was like that.
“I would suggest he won’t go over the top even if he’s angry. He’ll try and look at the positives and it’ll all be forgotten if they beat the leaders on Saturday.”
