Joe Allen is a man in demand after Stoke City’s relegation from the Premier League – with Crystal Palace the latest club said to be in the race.

Stoke City might have been relegated from the Premier League, but don’t expect to see Joe Allen playing Championship football next season.
The so-called ‘Welsh Xavi’ has seen his reputation remain largely intact despite finishing the 2017/18 season in 18th place with the Potters, who’s ten year stay in the top flight of English football came to an agonising end.
But Allen is expected to lead a summer exodus, with The Sun reporting Stoke could expect offers of around £20 million for a player they paid just £13 million for two summer’s ago.

Wolves and West Ham United are thought likely to be interested in the midfielder and, according to The Guardian, there could be a new suitor in the shape of Crystal Palace.
It is understood that Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace have explored a number of midfield options with the future of Frenchman Yohan Cabaye still uncertain. It is understood that the former PSG ace has been in negotiations over a new deal with his current contract set to expire this summer, but he would have to take a significant wage cut to remain at Palace.

And it is understood that Allen could be an option if Cabaye does go, with Anderlecht’s Belgian powerhouse Leander Dendoncker another possible option.
Allen is a hard-working and tenacious midfielder who also offers plenty in attack thanks to his fine distribution and late runs into the box. He would join his former Liverpool team-mates Christian Benteke and Mamadou Sakho by making the move to Crystal Palace.
