Jordon Mutch has been linked with a return to Cardiff City – now Premier League rivals Crystal Palace have let him go.

Jordon Mutch might have seen his career stall badly over the last few years but he still has plenty of admirers in South Wales.
According to Sky Sports, Cardiff City are keen to re-sign Mutch in the January transfer window, four-and-a-half years after he left for QPR in a £6 million deal (BBC).
The 27-year-old midfielder enjoyed the best season of his career in Cardiff colours in the 2013/14 season despite The Bluebirds suffering relegation from the Premier League at the first time of asking. Mutch netted seven often spectacular goals from the centre of the park, earning some rather ambitious comparisons with a certain Yaya Toure.
And Cardiff’s hopes of bringing Mutch home have now been given a massive boost.
Because Crystal Palace have taken the decision to release the former England U21 international on Friday, as reported by the club’s official website.

This will come as little surprise to Palace fans who have seen Mutch play just 40 games in four years. The Derby-born midfielder had spent the last few months on loan at MLS outfit Vancouver Whitecaps.
So if Cardiff really want to link up with Mutch again, they won’t even have to spend a penny.
