Joe Hart is certain to leave Premier League champions Manchester City but could a reunion with former England manager Roy Hodgson at Palace appeal?

What does the future hold for Joe Hart?

It has all gone wrong for the goalkeeper in recent years. A couple of seasons ago, you’d have got long odds on Hart being left out of England’s World Cup squad for an uncapped shot-stopper from Burnley, let alone struggling badly during a loan spell at West Ham United.

Hart seems to be finished at Manchester City, whose manager Pep Guardiola wasted no time in getting rid back in the summer of 2016 via temporary stints at Torino and The Hammers.

And with the London giants seemingly turning down the chance to sign Hart permanently, he is mid-way through the summer transfer window with his immediate future very much up in the air.

But could Crystal Palace come to his rescue? The Eagles are 8/1 with Sky Bet to hand Hart a lifeline, making them the top English club in the running to sign the out-of-sorts 31-year-old ahead of Wolves, Southampton and West Ham themselves.

There are three options ahead of Palace in the odds: Nice at 4/1, Sporting at 7/2 and ‘any MLS club’ at 3/1.

Palace have already brought in a goalkeeper this summer, Vicente Guaita finally arriving from Getafe in a deal that was agreed back in January.

But with Wayne Hennessey and Julian Speroni hardly convincing back-up, it would not be a massive surprise if Roy Hodgson decided to reunite with his former England number one.
