Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold was picked in the PFA Team of the Year ahead of Crystal Palace’s Premier League flyer Wan-Bissaka.

Clinton Morrison has suggested that Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka deserved a place in the official PFA Team of the Year, while speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT (25 April, 10:00am).
Few had heard of Wan-Bissaka this time last year so it is a credit to the Croydon-born defender that he has blossomed into one of the Premier League’s most highly-rated and coveted young talents since forcing his way into Roy Hodgson’s starting XI towards the end of last season.
Wan-Bissaka, who has been outstanding at both ends of the pitch, has started 32 league games for the Eagles and has been linked with the likes of Manchester United as a result. The Mail believes that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to launch a £35 million bid for the 21-year-old.
And Morrison, a former Crystal Palace striker, has claimed that Wan-Bissaka perhaps deserved to be rewarded with a place in the Team of the Year with the academy graduate left out in favour of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“He should have ran (Alexander-Arnold) close. He should have at least been in the Young Player of the Year (nominations),” Morrison said.
“He’s had an outstanding season and he should be recognised. He’s been exceptional and he’s only going to go from strength to strength.”
Palace will be desperate to hold onto Wan-Bissaka, and fellow local lad Wilfried Zaha, over the summer but that could be easier said than done with Manchester United in particular scouring the market for an exciting new right-back.
