Munas Dabbur is reportedly set to leave Red Bull Salzburg for Crystal Palace despite interest from La Liga.
Should Crystal Palace continue their strong end to the transfer window, Roy Hodgson could have a much stronger side than he ended last season with.
Cheikhou Kouyate and Max Meyer will add energy and creativity in central midfield while, should they stay, Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha will continue to provide the ammunition from out wide. Palace need someone to put those chances away however and they could have found him in Munas Dabbur.
According to Estadio Deportivo, the Israel international is close to signing for Palace despite interest from Andalusian duo Real Betis and Sevilla.
And though Dabbur is far from a household name in England, his remarkable 2017/18 season shows why Palace fans can afford to get excited. Dabbur scored 29 goals in all competitions, winning the Golden Boot as his Red Bull Salzburg side won the Austrian Bundesliga while helping them reach the semi-finals of the Europa League to boot.
Furthermore, the 26-year-old has even scored four goals in his first three games of this season.
So Crystal Palace will be signing a prolific goalscorer at the top of his game, albeit one yet to prove himself in a major European league.
After the struggles of Christian Benteke, Dabbur’s arrival should be well received.
