Championship side Nottingham Forest reportedly wanted Cristhian Stuani in the summer and now he can’t stop scoring for Girona.

Aitor Karanka was known as the arch-pragmatist during his time in charge of Middlesbrough so it should perhaps come as no surprise to learn that his Nottingham Forest side are struggling to score goals right now.
Despite spending big in the transfer window, Forest have been massively underwhelming in the first few weeks of the new Championship season. They have won just one out of seven games and have scored a grand total of eight goals in that time too.
The goalless draw away at Swansea City on Saturday was a similar story of missed opportunities – most of those falling to a wayward Ben Osborn. A number of Forest fans, meanwhile, have started to turn on £6 million summer signing Lewis Grabban, who is still yet to open his account for the club.
So Cristhian Stuani’s matchwinning display on Monday night will only rub salt into the wounds.

The veteran Uruguayan striker worked with Karanka at Middlesbrough, earning promotion in 2016. And TEAMtalk claimed that the Spaniard was hoping for a reunion at the City Ground before going all out for the ailing Grabban.
And the 31-year-old Stuani continued his hot streak on Monday, scoring twice in a 3-2 win against Celta Vigo to take his tally to three in two games. The target man even scored a remarkable 21 times in La Liga last season too.
Could he have helped turn these Forest draws into wins?
