Liverpool’s Champions League campaign will come down to a clash against Napoli at Anfield but will the Reds prevail?

So it all comes down to match-day six.

Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat away to Paris Saint German on Wednesday night means Jurgen Klopp’s side have now lost three straight group stage games in the Champions League, putting all the significance on their all-or-nothing clash against Napoli at Anfield in a fortnight.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli are top of Group C with Liverpool in third, but the Reds can still qualify for the knockout stages with a win against the Serie A side.

Speaking to Sky Sports, one-time Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy has made a positive prediction, as his former employers will undoubtedly be helped by the presence of a vociferous home support.

“The special nights that this club has been able to recreate time and time again at this special ground gives you hope straight away,” Bellamy said.

“This Napoli team is a very good team with a lot of very good footballers, but it is Anfield – and the Napoli players will be aware of that as well.

“I knew it was going to be a tough ask, but I have a lot of confidence because it’s Liverpool and they are at Anfield.”

Napoli comfortably outplayed Liverpool at the Stadio San Paolo earlier in the Champions League campaign, winning 1-0 in front of their own supporters thanks to a last-gasp Lorenzo Insigne goal.

And, after swatting aside Red Star Belgrade 3-1 in Southern Italy, Napoli will be travelling to Merseyside with a great deal of confidence. So Liverpool will need their players, and their supporters, to be on top form.
