Spurs are desperate to sign Wilfried Zaha from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, who are battling for Ligue 1 ace Jonathan Bamba.
Tottenham Hotspur just will not accept defeat over Wilfried Zaha.
The Crystal Palace winger has been followed very closely by Mauricio Pochettino since the summer of 2016 and, despite the fact that he signed a new five-year contract less than 12 months ago, The Mirror reports that Spurs are still hopeful of bringing the Ivory Coast speedster to North London.
It is understood that Manchester City and Chelsea are also keen on Zaha, who has finally fulfilled his enormous potential at Palace after that disappointing stint at Manchester United.
The Sun adds that Zaha, who currently earns £100,000-a-week at Selhurst Park, would cost in excess of £50 million.
While Palace are understandably determined not to see their talisman leave, Spurs should perhaps take some encouragement from reports that Roy Hodgson’s side have joined the race for St Etienne attacker Jonathan Bamba.
But Palace are also interested in Bamba, who has six goals and four assists for struggling Les Verts this season.
Obviously Palace would probably think bigger if they were to sell Zaha – and obtain a cool £50 million to reinvest in fresh talent – but Spurs should hope that signing a versatile and promising winger like Bamba would make the Eagles more open to cashing in on one of English football’s most in-demand players.
