Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to bring Roberto Gagliardini to the Premier League from Serie A outfit Inter Milan – but Liverpool could have a say.

There is just over a week left in the transfer window and, to the immense frustration of Tottenham fans everywhere, there are still no new faces at the North London club.
Though Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb report that Spurs are indeed trying to bring in a signing before the opportunity passes them by. Alongside Atletico Madrid, it is reported that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are interested in the Inter Milan midfielder Roberto Gagliardini.
An all-action 24-year-old, the four-time Italy international has impressed at the San Siro since his 2017 move from Atalanta and is valued at an affordable £18 million.
But Spurs’ hopes of bringing him to the new White Hart Lane, potentially as a long-term successor for Mousa Dembele, could be scuppered by none other than Premier League rivals Liverpool – albeit inadvertently.
Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inter Milan want to bring in a new midfielder with Bologna starlet Nicolo Barella top of their wishlist. And the Nerrazzuri could sacrifice Gagliardini to make room for the 23-year-old dynamo.

But this is where Liverpool come in. The Mirror states that Jurgen Klopp is also a big fan of the £25 million-rated Barella and looks set to step up his pursuit before the window slams shut.
If Liverpool beat Inter to his signature, this could be a major blow to Spurs’ hopes of tempting the Serie A giants into selling Gagliardini.
